Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a list of common questions we are generally asked via e-mail. If you don't see the answers to your questions below feel free to e-mail us here.

My Basket says it's Empty - What do I do?
Make sure that on the products page you have added your product to your basket. If this does not work read below.
Your computer will need to "Accept Cookies" for the basket to fill properly.  Click on  your "Tools" in your browsers top bar.
Then click on "Internet Options"
Click the "Privacy" tab.
Move the virtual lever down to "Accept All Cookies" 
Or on some browsers simply reduce your security setting.
Then click on okay apply - Your basket will now operate properly.  
You will find that for many shopping programs to operate properly your computer will have to accept the cookies that the shopping programs drop in order to hold your baskets contents when you go from one page to another during check out.

Will I really get a $100. Rebate?
Yes, as long as the photos are clean, clear and the vehicle is attractive. Only a few have been refused  since the inception of this website in 1998. Your vehicle will then be posted on the web for the world to see.
Must be submitted within 120 days of purchase. Fiberglass hoods only

Your site doesn't work what do I do?
On Computers with slower processors or older versions of Microsoft Explorer, this site may not function properly.  If you have a newer version of Explorer (4.0 and newer) and you have an adequate processor, it may be that your connection is slow or your system has frozen. First try to "REFRESH" the page, if that doesn't work then simply shut down your system properly and bring it back up, then log back on to this site, everything should function fine now.  If you have an older version of Explorer consider updating your browser by going to www.microsoft .com .

Can I order by mail or telephone?
No,  this is strictly an E-Commerce site. This site only accepts order by credit card.

Does the price include freight charges?
Some do. But only on small items, and only when stated in the items description. Larger items such as hoods, bumper covers, etc... Ship truck freight collect This means that you will pay the carrier for their fees at the time of delivery.  This insures that someone has inspected the shipment prior to accepting it.

Can I Pick up my part (s) at your facility?
Techhoods Only,  Immediately after placing your order, E-mail us with your ORDER NUMBER & LAST NAME  in the subject area then just type "CUSTOMER PICK UP" in the body of the letter. It's just that simple!

 I don't see the part I am looking for - do you have it?
Everything we manufacture and / or carry is listed on our website.

Can you custom make me  a part?
No - we only make / carry what is listed on the website and what we currently have the tooling for.

Re;  Techhoods Can I pay extra to have you guys open the scoops for me?
No - the opening of the scoops on fiberglass hoods is the responsibility of the installer. The hood is much stronger for shipping purposes with the scoops left closed.  Fiberglass Techhoods only

Can I prepay the freight charges?
No - All shipments are sent freight collect unless stated otherwise - this insures that there will be someone at the delivering address to inspect and sign for the shipment.

Do I need special paint for my hood?
No - you can use any type of paint you choose.  Flexible paint and paint additives are generally only used on urethane products. (Like noses and flares).

 Can I order my parts the same color as my car?
No, all fiberglass hoods come in a gray gel coated surface only.....All steel hoods come in black primer. Painting the hood is up to the installer.

Will fiberglass hoods use my factory springs?
Depending on make and model... as a rule of thumb, pre 1980 vehicles with the heavier springs may need to be replaced with lighter tension springs. 1978-87 G.M. hoods often require a prop rod or hydraulic strut rather than the side coil.

How long will it take to ship my patrs?
Once your hood leaves our facility the carrier can take anywhere from 7 to 10 days to deliver it to you depending on your location in the U.S. 

What do I do if the hood arrives damaged?

Our damage rate is a low 2% +/-
First you will have to decide if the damage is minor or major.
 -  If the damage is just minor (a ding, a chip or scratch) the freight bill MUST be marked with damage indications and you may place a claim for repairs reimbursement with the carrier if you choose.
- If the damage is major (a hole thru the box to the part) and the part can not be repaired ,"REFUSE" the shipment "DUE TO DAMAGE", and let us take care of the paperwork and claims headaches.
Note:  The carrier you are claiming with is responsible for making the
determination on whether or not to pay a claim.


The hood I received from you guys does not have any provisions for the front pop up spring.  What do I do?    Fiberglass hoods only
We recommend that the pop up spring be turned upside down and mounted off of the core support...so it pushes up on the hood.

Where can I find other parts for my vehicle?

All we carry is what is listed on our website.  However here are a few good sources for other vehicle parts.....
